The Good Shepherd Team

Corporate Office- Upstate South Carolina Territory

Certified Pet Loss Professional

After attending Berry College in Rome, Georgia, Charles began his professional career just like many young college grads do; he took the first paying job he could find. From purchasing agent, to computer sales, to real estate broker and home builder, he finally found his calling in the funeral business. He worked with Aurora Casket Company in Kentucky before heading back home to Atlanta to enroll in Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service. After completing his studies and passing the national boards Charles moved to Greenville, South Carolina. There he worked at Mackey Funeral Home as an embalmer and funeral director. Once Charles completed his apprenticeship he found an opportunity to purchase Saint Francis Pet Crematory. With the help of two partners he purchased the business and ran it for two years. Charles started Good Shepherd in 1998.

Charles married his college sweetheart, Stephanie. They have two children; CT who recently graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and Allie who is currentlyattending college at Tri County Tech in Pendelton.

Other than work, Charles loves to spend time on the lake with family and friends. He is currently working on his instrument rating private pilot license and hopes to fly through the cloud instead of flying around them real soon. Charles and Stephanie completed a trip of a lifetime where they both completed the marathon in Athens Greece in 2010. Charles and Stephanie recently moved to Lake Keowee, where Charles joined the Seneca Rotary Club.

Charles and Stephanie have embarked on their latest challenge; complete the Great Loop. This is a trip by boat that circles the east coast to Canada, through the Great Lakes, down the Mississippi, around Florida and back to Charleston where they departed on April 7th 2013. If you are interested in seeing where they are now you can check out their blog @ Admiral Stephanie and Captain Crook.

Johnny Field Representative

Johnny was born and raised in Knoxville, TN to the parents of audiological professionals.  His parents would often remark the family Vizsla was easier to raise than he was. At a young age he decided he wanted to be a Marine.  After graduating high school he fulfilled that goal in becoming an Infantry Squad Leader in the Marine Corps.  In his service, Johnny was deployed 3 times, twice to Iraq. After his term of enlistment ended, Johnny separated from the Marine Corps to pursue his education at the University of Tennessee.

Not only did Johnny obtain a B.S. in Journalism and Electronic Media from the University of Tennessee, he did all the while fostering an Australian Shepherd. Upon graduation Johnny spent two years legally advocating for veterans in Nashville, TN. While in his late 20s he decided to start a career in pet services that offered unique opportunities to serve our beloved pets, their families and those that care for them medically.

Johnny found that fit with the Good Shepherd family. Johnny and his wife Holly are members of the Boykin Spaniel Society and the Carolina Boykin Spaniel Retriever Club. Their Boykin, McGee, rounds out their family. In his free time Johnny studies wildlife, explores the Low Country and is involved in veterans’ organizations.

I transferred to Queens University of Charlotte where I spent the next three years as a midfielder for their soccer program. He loves playing intramural sports, such as flag football, soccer, volleyball, and softball. Basically, anything to get me out of the house. Aaron is not married and has no children. He wants to help our pet owners through one of the hardest times in their lives, and enjoys assisting the veterinarians in any way he can to best serve the families of our beloved furry friends.

From Chattanooga, Tennessee Scott moved to Charlotte after graduating from the University of Tennessee. During his time at Good Shepherd Scott has done a remarkable job of introducing our services to veterinarians throughout the Southeast. Scott is our point man; you will find him at most "shows" that are attended by Good Shepherd. He usually has his companion Frank along for the ride.

When Scott is not working, you will find him on a golf course taking money from his friends. If you ask Scott what he likes most about Good Shepherd he will tell you about the relationships he has with veterinarians, their staff, and the client's that appreciate the services he provides.

Richard - Field Representative
