Did you know that you can have your companion's ashes suspended into beautiful, one-of-a-kind glass art? Pictured below are the Glass Pendant, Forever Heart, Memorial Bone, Glass Orb, Keepsake Heart Pendant, and Eternal Flame - just a few of our Cremation Art Glass options! This process can be done at any time after cremation and, depending on the glass ordered, only takes between 4-10 weeks for each handmade piece. As 2017 comes to an end, I think everyone would agree that our pets are family members. And they teach us so many things along the way - love, patience, forgiveness, and true companionship. Let's pay it forward. Let's start now. This isn't a New Year's Resolutions, this is a commitment to ourselves to be a better version of ourselves, one step at a time. Pet owner: He would wake me up every morning, at same time everyday, just happy. I would get ready for work. It made me so happy. Me: Sadly our pets don't live as long as we would want them to. Do you think because he's no longer present in the physical form, that he wouldn't want you to continue to be happy? Our pets come in our lives to teach us lessons or make us better. At the same time, everyday, you received the best gift of all. Happiness. It will get better, your load will lessen, remember your gift and keep it hold of it forever. (I was given permission to use this story with excluding names)

Good Shepherd family meet Lisa Shehan Parham. Here is her #MyGivingStory story where she highlights her daughter, who since the tender age of 4, has always loved animals. Lisa has taught her to be a servant leader in her community by giving back from the heart. Now at 10 years old, she's an amazing volunteer, and with her Mother, give their time and talents at Blue Ridge Humane Society . Please read her story and vote. Blue Ridge Humane Society is a nonprofit 501 c3. If she wins all grant money will go to support this organization.
Here are some pictures from several members and their families of the Good Shepherd team. We hope you all had a Happy and Safe Halloween. Feel free to share your pictures of you, your pets, even if they have moved on to the Rainbow Bridge. Post in their memory.

Happy DOGust 1! What's DOGust 1? I'm glad you asked. For all pet parents out there who don’t know their adopted dog’s birthday, August 1 is the perfect time to celebrate! Certainly Vets can narrow down when a pet was born, but DOGust 1st is the official birthday for any shelter pets whose date of birth is unknown and adpoted pets. You may not have known the exacty birthday of your loyal friend, but you sure know the day he/she moved on the Rainbow Bridge. Today can also be a way to celebrate their memory and life or volunteer at a shelter. So, however you spend DOGust 1, make it a great day. You can also raise awareness about pet adoption services and shelters in general, praising them for all the incredible work they do in rescuing and caring for animals across the country. http://www.puppyup.org/happy-dogust/

We'd like to thank you for the kindness shown to our beloved cat, Mr. Peeps, who was with us for the past 14 years. With the guidance of our vet services we were able to use your services. We always asked Mr. Peeps who he was in a previous life as he looked after us and was so loving that he must have known us before. Thank you from Mike and Pat Roberts
We've had several 5 star reviews lately, just wanted to share.
We were so worried about what we were going to have to do once our beloved cat Sadie passed. Between our vet and Good Shepherd, we got to grieve and process our loss without having to worry. Thank you Good Shepherd, your name truly says it all!
Another 5 star review! Thank you so much!
